Age is just a number...
Steve began his journey in November 2017 with me, prior to that he has had 2-3 years of training experience, both by himself and with other personal trainers. He decided to come on board when he lacked the nutritional structure and guidelines to achieve his body recomposition goals.
The main problem was that he didn’t understand the role food played in terms of fuel, recovery and fat loss and how we could manage all this to help him achieve his goals. Once we sat down and talked about the roles of each macronutrient and what calories he needed to be on, he understood that food was more than just food, he understood it was the fuel to his goals and ultimately, a manageable and measurable tool which could be manipulated depending on his goals.
Steve works as a Doctor for the public sector, this means long hours sat down with little time to to go out and grab meals. With days starting early and finishing late, we needed to manage his work outs as well to ensure that he was recovering enough to work and train efficiently.
Once we sat down and discussed this, it was apparent that the best way to approach this for Steve was to construct a specific meal plan that he could prepare 2-3 times per week and take to the office so he wouldn’t have to live off coffee shop sandwiches and local Chinese cafes. With a fixed meal plan in place, we tailored his 3 day a week training plan to his capabilities and looked to increasing his training capacity over time (adding more weights, more sets, more reps). All that was left was to be patient and execute on the plans.
As you can see, Steve accomplished a lot in his first 90 days.
